Our Vision for This Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The purpose of this role is to provide essential support for our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that our reconciliation processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will be a key player in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and supporting the wider team in its mission to drive the financial health of the company.
What You'll Do
- Reconciliation: You will perform weekly reconciliations of items such as the company credit cards and PayPal accounts, ensuring all receipts are documented and providing updates on balances.
- Month-End Accounting: Assist in the preparation and posting of key month-end journals, including adjustments for prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
- VAT compliance: Prepare and submit draft quarterly VAT returns for review by the Finance Manager, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Payments & Queries: Take responsibility for processing payment runs to our suppliers and partners, ensuring appropriate due diligence takes place.
What You'll Bring
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience That Will Set You Apart:
- Previous experience in a financial assistant role.
- Familiarity with financial software systems.
Qualifications:
- Part or fully qualified AAT qualification is desirable
Package
- Salary £TBC dependent on experience, and enjoy a flexible, 35-hour working week, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and an extra 1-day holiday after each year of service (max additional 5 days). - The role will be based in Leeds at least one day a week.
