Job Description
This is not a traditional accounting-only position. The role will take ownership across finance operations, tax compliance, treasury management, banking relationships, cross-border funding, internal controls and group reporting. The successful candidate will act as a key bridge between the European business and headquarters in China. My client, a growing Chinese international business, is currently expanding its UK and European operations and is looking to appoint an experienced bilingual Finance Manager to support the next stage of growth. The position would suit someone with strong UK finance experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment and familiar with the operational style of Chinese-funded enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:
- Full-set accounting and financial reporting for the UK entity
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with UK accounting standards and group requirements
- Manage AP, AR, general ledger, expense control, reconciliations and cash flow reporting
- Responsible for VAT, Corporation Tax and other UK tax filings, ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies
- Support transfer pricing management and cross-border related-party transactions
- Manage treasury activities including cash flow planning, foreign exchange settlement and cross-border fund transfers
- Build and maintain relationships with local banks, support financing applications and credit facility discussions
- Monitor financial risks, foreign exchange exposure and operational controls
- Establish and improve internal financial control procedures and reporting processes
- Support group internal audit and external audit activities, including audit rectification follow-up
- Prepare bilingual financial reports and communicate regularly with headquarters in China
- Participate in financial process optimization and support wider European business expansion projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline
- ACCA / ACA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of finance experience with at least 3 years within the UK market
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience within Chinese-funded enterprises, international groups or multinational environments preferred
- Familiarity with treasury management, financing activities and cross-border fund operations
- Strong financial analysis, reporting and risk management capabilities
- Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese communication skills, both written and spoken
- Able to work independently with strong ownership and cross-regional coordination skills
