Job Description
As part of this successful, global organisation, the European business division now requires a Compliance Officer, who will have responsibility for overseeing compliance matters across the division.
This role has hybrid/ flexible working arrangements as well as an attractive compensation and benefits package.
The Role:
Reporting to the VP and General Counsel for the region, as the Compliance Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- acting as a key member of the Legal & Compliance function
- supporting in the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of compliance programs including anti-corruption, anti-trust and export control/trade sanctions
- helping identify, manage and solve compliance risks and advise on compliance topics
- designing, developing and continuously improving the division’s compliance programs and keeping up to date with relevant regulatory developments across the division
- raising awareness and adoption of compliance programs through regular compliance training
- continuously following up on processes, procedures and implementation of compliance policies and reporting the results to relevant stakeholders
- working with the M&A Team and external advisors for compliance due diligence and post-acquisition integration
- conducting compliance investigations and anti-corruption reviews in conjunction with Internal Audit Teams and external consultants and reporting on such matters to the Code of Conduct Committee
Operating at a strategic level, as the Compliance Officer you will be required to devise, implement and influence at all levels throughout the region.
The Group has locations throughout the European region. Candidates for this role can be located near to any of their main international business units.
The Candidate:
Ideally of graduate standard, or higher, with further legal qualifications, candidates for the Compliance Officer role will be able to demonstrate that they have:
- previous experience working in a same or similar compliance role
- previous experience of internal audit or working with internal controls
- previous experience of working on a pan-European / international business basis
- the ability to swiftly interpret complex international organisations and successfully build an internal network
- a good working knowledge of MS Office applications
Candidates for the Compliance Officer role should also be:
- a pro-active, hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and has a positive, professional attitude
- detail-oriented, process-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the presence and ability to communicate, motivate and influence at the highest level
- capable of working as part of a team or under your own initiative in order to meet required targets and deadlines
- excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to success
- the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads
Whilst fluent in English, verbal and written, European language skills would be a benefit but are not essential.
