Job Description

Miryco Consultants is working with a leading asset manager to add an Operational Resilience Manager.


As the Operational Resilience Manager within the team you will play a leading role in maintaining and strengthening the company's Operational Resilience Framework and the related Business Continuity Management System. You will support compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including the PRA and FCA's operational resilience requirements and ISO 22301.


Responsibilities:

Operational Resilience


  • Lead the annual review of Important Business Services (‘IBS’) and Impact Tolerances.
  • Manage the company's resource mapping process to ensure all internal and third-party operational resources that support IBS delivery are identified and assessed.
  • Review and challenge the recovery and contingency measures in place - both internally and at our key vendors.
  • Design, coordinate, and run the company’s annual programme of resilience testing, to ensure all IBS can remain within their Impact Tolerances under severe but plausible disruption.
  • Manage remediation activity to address identified vulnerabilities and support the development of improvements to the company’s resilience measures.
  • Monitor the company’s resilience on an ongoing basis, prepare the annual Operational Resilience Self-Assessment Report, and prepare / coordinate responses to any regulatory requests in relation to Operational Resilience.


Business Continuity


  • Support the maintenance and improvement of the Business Continuity Management System, including the annual management review process and ISO 22301 external audit.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and testing of business continuity plans and the 1st line assurance of the business continuity arrangements for key third and fourth parties.
  • Coordinate the Business Impact Assessment (‘BIA’) process to ensure the resilience requirements of key business practices are captured, understood, and reflected in resilience capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure system and data recovery capabilities meet the needs of the business.
  • Support the effective management of any internal or third-party business continuity incidents and the post incident remediation and lessons learned activity.


Experience:

  • 6+ years operational resilience experience in a financial services environment.
  • Subject matter expert on best practice in developing business continuity plans, disaster recovery capabilities, and contingency measures.
  • Ability to design, develop, and run robust scenario tests and exercises to stress and improve a firm's resilience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards with respect to operational resilience and third-party risk management.
