Due to our rapid growth, this is a pivotal time for our team, and we’re looking for an ambitious Finance Manager to develop and strengthen our finance function in line with our culture and strategic goals, while meeting business needs.


We’re looking for someone who has a vision for the future and a keen eye for improvement. Someone who doesn't mind speaking up with ideas, because sometimes those unspoken ideas could be the start of a major improvement for a business.


The successful candidate will be embedded within our operations team, supporting all areas of the business and reporting directly to our Chief Business Officer.


What you will be doing:

  • Day-to-day financial operations while supporting the ongoing development of the finance function.
  • All transactions within Xero accounts package.
  • Processing supplier invoices and overseeing timely and accurate supplier payments.
  • Generating purchase orders and managing supplier payments (including project specific spend, including billable expenses)
  • Managing and maintaining project finances using Xero Projects
  • Completing timely and accurate monthly bank and direct debit reconciliations, including foreign currency transactions.
  • Processing employee expenses.
  • Preparing month-end accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Posting month-end journal postings.
  • Supporting month-end closures to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborating with our sales and project teams.
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with the growth of the business.
  • Continuous improvement of financial processes, systems and workflows to drive efficiency.


Who you are:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hands-on finance role, using Xero and Xero Projects
  • AAT qualified (Level 3 or above)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office package; in particular Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills with experience managing multiple processes simultaneously with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Confident communicator and collaborator with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Past experience in a service provision business, preferably Life Science Consultancy or Recruitment Agency setting
