Finance Business Partner at a Multi-Academy Trust

A Multi-Academy Trust in the East Midlands is seeking a qualified finance accountant to join their central team as a Finance Business Partner. This is full-time, hybrid working, permanent role based at their head office, with travel to schools across the Trust.
About the Role
As a Finance Business Partner you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial planning, reporting, and business partnering support across the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Leading Trust-wide financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Producing and consolidating accurate monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reports
- Delivering clear, narrative-driven insights to senior leaders, governors, and committees
- Providing scenario modelling and cost-efficiency analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Acting as a trusted finance advisor to headteachers and school leadership teams
- Embedding consistent financial processes, controls, and systems across the Trust
- Translating complex financial information into clear, practical advice for non-finance colleagues
- Team management and development
Qualifications / Skills
- Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA CIMA, CIPFA)Have relevant experience in financial management, planning, and reporting within education, public sector, or not-for-profit settings
- Possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide meaningful variance analysis and recommendations
Pay range and compensation package
These roles offer a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a values-driven organisation committed to financial sustainability, accountability, and excellence in education with a salary range of £45,000 to £55,000 pa. The benefits include a Local Government Pension Scheme and hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home).
