Finance Business Analyst – Finance Transformation
London | Hybrid Working | Global Banking Organisation
£690 per day inside IR35, 5 month contract
We are partnering with a leading global banking organisation undergoing a major finance transformation programme across EMEA. As part of this strategic initiative, we are seeking an experienced Finance Business Analyst to support a wider Finance Transformation Programme.
This role will sit at the heart of the programme, working closely with Finance, Technology and Data teams to ensure successful delivery of finance testing, reporting validation, automation initiatives and business readiness activities. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong finance change experience who enjoys bridging the gap between finance and technology in a complex, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a large-scale finance transformation programme, acting as the key liaison between Finance, Technology and Data teams.
- Lead and coordinate Finance testing activities, including UAT, regression testing, parallel runs and defect management.
- Validate financial data, reporting outputs and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness and alignment with business requirements.
- Review and support the sign-off of Head Office, management and regulatory reporting outputs ahead of implementation.
- Develop and refine reporting requirements and specifications to support the delivery of automated reporting solutions.
- Partner with technology and data teams to ensure solutions meet Finance requirements and control standards.
- Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, business continuity activities and post-implementation issue resolution.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across Finance, Operations, Technology and Change functions, providing clear updates on progress, risks and dependencies.
- Contribute to business readiness activities, including training materials, process documentation and user adoption initiatives.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Finance Business Analyst delivering finance transformation or regulatory change programmes within banking or financial services.
- Accounting qualification (fully or part qualified) or strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Strong experience across the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional specifications, testing and implementation.
- Hands-on experience leading UAT, defining test scenarios, validating results and managing defect resolution.
- Strong data analysis and reconciliation skills, with experience working across multiple finance and reporting data sources.
- Solid understanding of General Ledger (GL), Chart of Accounts (CoA), financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of financial products including loans, securities, repos and derivatives.
- Experience working with finance platforms such as Oracle GL, Subledger, Murex or similar finance systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex finance and technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working within complex, regulated environments.
- Understanding of IFRS and/or J-GAAP reporting standards.
- Previous experience supporting finance integration, operating model change or transformation programmes within a global banking environment.
